ICC Chairman Jay Shah Felicitated in Mumbai Ahead of BCCI AGM 2025

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) hosted a grand felicitation ceremony for ICC chairman Jay Shah in Mumbai on Saturday, just two days before the BCCI Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2025, scheduled for September 28.

Jay Shah, who has completed over a decade of service in cricket administration, was honoured for his remarkable contributions to the game. His leadership has been pivotal in strengthening India’s domestic cricket framework, modernising the Indian Premier League (IPL), and driving key reforms in women’s cricket.

Under Shah’s tenure, women’s cricket has witnessed a historic transformation. Tournament prize money has seen a massive increase, bringing more recognition and parity for women cricketers. These reforms are set to shine at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, starting September 30, which promises expanded global participation, extensive broadcast coverage, and the biggest prize pool in women’s cricket history.

MCA President Ajinkya Naik, while felicitating Shah, praised his vision and impact:

“Jay Shah’s commitment to empowering cricket at every level has been extraordinary. His reforms, especially in women’s cricket, have created opportunities and inspired millions worldwide. As we enter the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, it is only fitting to celebrate his leadership that continues to transform the game.”
