Asia Cup 2025 final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium turned into a showcase of spin brilliance as Kuldeep Yadav produced a match-winning spell to dismantle Pakistan’s batting line-up. The left-arm wrist spinner picked up 4/30, triggering a dramatic middle-order collapse that restricted Pakistan to just 146 runs in the title clash on Sunday.

With his four-wicket haul, Kuldeep Yadav Asia Cup 2025 tally rose to 17 wickets, equalling the record for the most wickets in a T20I series or tournament among full-member nations. He now sits alongside India’s Arshdeep Singh (T20 World Cup 2024) and Afghanistan’s Fazalhaq Farooqi (T20 World Cup 2024) at the top of the charts.

Pakistan’s Strong Start Cut Short

Put into bat, Pakistan made a fiery start through Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46), who added 84 runs for the opening wicket. At 113/1 in the 13th over, Pakistan looked on course for a total well above 180. But once Farhan mistimed a second six off Varun Chakravarthy, the innings unraveled.

Kuldeep Yadav took full control in the middle overs, including a stunning 17th over where he dismissed three batters, among them Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha for just 8 runs. The collapse saw Pakistan lose nine wickets for only 33 runs.

Bumrah Applies the Finishing Touch

Jasprit Bumrah wrapped up the innings with two quick strikes, removing Haris Rauf and Mohammad Nawaz. Adding spice to the rivalry, Bumrah mimicked Rauf’s earlier celebration, drawing loud reactions from the Dubai crowd and highlighting the psychological battle between the two sides.

A Historic Rivalry, A Historic Record

This was the first-ever Asia Cup final between India and Pakistan in the tournament’s 41-year history, played against a backdrop of political tensions and no handshakes at the toss. India had already beaten Pakistan twice earlier in the edition, but Kuldeep Yadav’s record-equalling feat ensured the Men in Blue held the upper hand yet again on the biggest stage.
