ndia beat Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final on Sunday night in Dubai, clinching their record-extending 9th title in dramatic fashion. In front of a packed stadium, the defending champions defeated their arch-rivals by five wickets, sealing a third straight win over Pakistan in this edition of the tournament.

The atmosphere was electric as Rinku Singh, filling in for the injured Hardik Pandya, struck the winning boundary. The Indian dugout erupted, with teammates sprinting onto the field to embrace Rinku and Tilak Varma in jubilant celebrations. The victory capped weeks of tension, controversies, and political undertones surrounding the India-Pakistan rivalry, but cricket ultimately took center stage.

Chasing 147, India found themselves in early trouble at 20/3 and later 77/4. However, Tilak Varma played a mature knock under pressure, scoring a match-winning 69 not out from 53 balls. His steady 60-run stand with Shivam Dube (33 off 21) turned the tide before Rinku applied the finishing touches. With 10 needed off the last over, Tilak smashed a six and Rinku sealed the game with two balls to spare.

Earlier, Pakistan’s innings collapsed after a promising start. From 113/1, they were bowled out for just 146 in 19.1 overs. Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46) gave them a solid platform, but Kuldeep Yadav’s brilliant spell of 4/30 ripped through the middle order. The left-arm wrist spinner claimed three wickets in a single over, swinging the match firmly in India’s favor.

The final wasn’t short on drama either. Jasprit Bumrah reignited the rivalry by mimicking Haris Rauf’s controversial gesture after dismissing him. The no-handshake saga also continued, with players avoiding handshakes both at the toss and after the match.

Despite the political tension, Indian fans outnumbered Pakistani supporters in Dubai, turning the stadium into a sea of blue. As Tilak and Rinku celebrated the winning runs, the roar made one thing clear: for all the off-field noise, India’s cricketing brilliance and dominance in Asia remain unmatched.

With this victory, India not only beat Pakistan for the third time in the tournament but also lifted their ninth Asia Cup crown, further stamping their authority on the continental stage.
