Hardik Pandya injury update – Premier India all-rounder Hardik Pandya is facing a major setback, with reports suggesting he is all but ruled out of the upcoming India vs Australia ODI series. According to Dainik Jagran, the 31-year-old has been advised a minimum of four weeks’ rest after sustaining a left quadriceps injury during the Asia Cup Super 4 clash against Sri Lanka in Dubai.

This injury forced Hardik to miss the Asia Cup 2025 final against Pakistan, where Rinku Singh stepped in as his replacement. The latest update indicates that Hardik is unlikely to recover in time for the three-match ODI series beginning October 19 at Perth’s Optus Stadium.

Even if he makes a faster-than-expected recovery, Pandya is set to miss the ODIs that will see the much-anticipated comeback of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in limited-overs cricket. The five-match T20I series, starting October 29 at the Manuka Oval in Hobart, could still be a possibility, but his availability remains uncertain.

The BCCI Medical Team is expected to issue an official statement soon, which will provide more clarity on Hardik’s recovery timeline. Former India coach Ravi Shastri, while commentating during the Asia Cup final, confirmed that Pandya is dealing with a quadriceps muscle injury.

Hardik bowled just one over in the Super 4s game against Sri Lanka before walking off the field in visible discomfort, not returning for the rest of the contest. His absence was felt in the final, where India managed to clinch their ninth Asia Cup title, thanks to a composed unbeaten 69 from Tilak Varma.
