The high-voltage India vs Pakistan Women’s World Cup 2025 clash at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo had its share of drama when Pakistan spinner Nashra Sandhu gave a death stare to India captain Harmanpreet Kaur during the first innings.

Batting at No. 4, Kaur scored 19 off 34 balls with two boundaries, building a 39-run stand with Harleen Deol for the third wicket. The fiery moment unfolded in the 22nd over, right after Kaur had dispatched Sandhu for a boundary. On the next ball, Kaur played a dot delivery, and Sandhu mockingly pretended to throw the ball towards her before glaring intensely.

The attempt to unsettle the Indian skipper went viral on social media, with fans praising Harmanpreet for her composure. The Indian captain didn’t engage in the confrontation, muttering a few words under her breath but quickly regaining focus on her innings.

India posted 247 in 50 overs, thanks to crucial contributions from the middle order. Openers Smriti Mandhana (23) and Pratika Rawal (31) provided a solid start with a 48-run stand. After Kaur’s dismissal, Harleen Deol (46) and Jemimah Rodrigues (32) kept the scoreboard ticking, adding 45 runs for the fourth wicket.

All-rounders Deepti Sharma (25) and Sneh Rana (20) chipped in with a 42-run partnership for the sixth wicket, while Richa Ghosh smashed a quickfire 35 off 20 balls, giving India late momentum.
