Asia Cup 2025 Final Toss Drama: In an unusual twist at the Asia Cup 2025 final, India and Pakistan captains faced separate interviews at the toss, highlighting the growing tension between the two cricketing giants. Suryakumar Yadav of India and Pakistan’s Salman Ali Agha spoke to different broadcasters in a rare move orchestrated by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

Following advice from ACC chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who also heads the Pakistan Cricket Board, two separate broadcast setups were arranged. Former India all-rounder Ravi Shastri interviewed Suryakumar Yadav, while legendary Pakistani pacer Waqar Younis engaged with Salman Ali Agha.

Shastri led the toss presentation, introducing Waqar, the captains, and match referee Richie Richardson. Suryakumar won the toss and opted to bowl first. Speaking to Shastri, the Indian captain praised the pitch and conditions:
“It looks like a good wicket. The wicket gets better under lights. We have been batting well first, but we would like to chase today. The groundsmen have done a terrific job with the wickets, and we want to continue the brand of cricket we’ve played over the last 5-6 games.”

On the other side, Salman told Waqar he was happy to bat first, adding:
“We are very excited and looking forward to this game. We haven’t played a perfect game yet, and hopefully, we play one today.”

The toss also saw India make three changes to their XI, with Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh, and Harshit Rana missing out due to fitness concerns. Jasprit Bumrah, Shivam Dube, and Rinku Singh replaced them. Pakistan, however, fielded an unchanged side.

Earlier, rising tensions were evident when Suryakumar refused to pose alongside Salman in the customary pre-final photoshoot with the Asia Cup trophy. Salman posed alone, and at the toss, the two captains were seen standing wide apart from the trophy as photographers captured the moment.

This rare move at the toss underscores not just the intensity of the India-Pakistan rivalry but also the high stakes surrounding the first-ever Asia Cup final meeting between the two neighbors.
