ILT20 Season 4 Auction created history on Tuesday as big names, young UAE pacers, and Associate cricketers grabbed the spotlight. The star of the day was West Indies opener Andre Fletcher, who commanded a record-breaking USD 260,000 to continue with MI Emirates for a fourth consecutive season.
Known as the flamboyant “Spiceman,” Fletcher’s signing set the tone for a high-voltage auction where franchises fiercely battled to secure both global icons and rising talent. Close behind was England pacer Scott Currie, snapped up by Dubai Capitals for USD 250,000, while all-rounder Liam Dawson fetched USD 170,000 from Gulf Giants.
UAE Pacers Steal the Show
The auction was a landmark moment for UAE cricket as local fast bowlers commanded big money.
- Junaid Siddique (USD 170,000, RTM) joined Sharjah Warriorz.
- Muhammad Rohid (USD 140,000, RTM) was retained by MI Emirates.
These record deals marked a new chapter for UAE’s pace-bowling future and showcased the league’s commitment to nurturing homegrown talent.
