His innings, laced with six boundaries and five towering sixes, ensured that India finished the day strongly at 448/5, taking a lead of 286 runs. Jadeja’s crucial 206-run stand with Dhruv Jurel, who scored his maiden Test hundred, laid the foundation for India’s dominance. He will resume his innings on Day 3 alongside Washington Sundar (9*).

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra was all praise for Jadeja’s effort. Sharing his thoughts on X, Chopra said, “Jadeja is the undisputed World’s No.1 Test All-Rounder. The one aspect that’s not celebrated enough is his fitness. He hasn’t lost any pace or sharpness on the field. He’s rarely injured too. Incredible player.”

Jadeja’s achievement also places him in elite company. He is now the sixth cricketer to score six or more Test centuries while also claiming over 300 wickets, joining legends like Kapil Dev, R Ashwin, Ian Botham, Imran Khan, and Daniel Vettori.

Interestingly, Jadeja recently admitted that he learned about his vice-captaincy role only after the squad announcement. “They didn’t tell me anything. I just saw VC written next to my name. At the end of the day, you share your experience with the team whenever needed. The captain, coach, and management have shown faith, and I am always ready to contribute,” he said.

With his consistency, fitness, and ability to deliver in crucial moments, Ravindra Jadeja continues to cement his legacy as one of India’s greatest all-rounders.
