Salman Agha on Suryakumar Yadav skipping photoshoot — Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha has downplayed reports that India’s skipper Suryakumar Yadav chose to miss the traditional captains’ photoshoot with the Asia Cup trophy ahead of the grand final.
Speaking to the media, Agha made it clear that Pakistan would stick to the Asian Cricket Council’s guidelines regardless of India’s stance.
“They can do whatever they want, we will just follow the protocol. If they come, fine. If not, it’s their choice. We can’t control it,” Agha said during the press interaction.
India vs Pakistan Rivalry Intensifies
This year’s Asia Cup has been filled with high drama both on and off the field. From India refusing the customary handshake with Pakistan at the toss and after matches, to heated player exchanges and extravagant celebrations, the tension has only added spice to the legendary rivalry.
On the cricketing front, however, India has held the upper hand. Led by opener Abhishek Sharma and star spinner Varun Chakravarthy, India outclassed Pakistan in both the group stage and the Super Four. Following that win, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav even suggested that the historic rivalry is no longer the same, pointing to India’s recent dominance.
Agha: “India-Pakistan Games Always Carry Pressure”
Despite India’s superiority, Agha believes that an India-Pakistan clash always brings its own pressure. He admitted Pakistan’s own mistakes proved costly in earlier matches but insisted that the team’s focus remains on delivering a strong performance in the final.
“Yes, India-Pakistan games always carry pressure. If I say otherwise, it would be wrong. But in the last games, our mistakes cost us. In matches like these, the side that makes fewer errors usually wins. Tomorrow, our goal is to minimise mistakes and aim for the Asia Cup,” Agha said.
As the two sides prepare for yet another high-stakes battle, fans can expect emotions, intensity, and pressure to run high when India and Pakistan meet in the final showdown.
